The image shows a man working on a laptop. On the laptop screen, a software to design custom tanks is being used. When off-the-shelf tanks don’t meet your requirements, a custom solution may be the answer. Designing a custom tank allows you to tailor every aspect to your specific application, industry needs, and space constraints.

Here’s How Getting a Custom Tank Works:

Define Your Tank Type

Begin by considering what type of tank best fits your application and industry. We offer custom solutions for hydraulic, transfer, reefer, and industrial tanks. In this step, you’ll also need to provide your material preference: mild steel (HRPO), stainless steel (304), or aluminum (5052-H32). As well as determine the mounting style: upright, side mount, saddle mount, deck mount, or cradle mount. If you’re unsure or need help figuring it out, that’s okay; we can help you with this part.

Share Your Design Specifications

Next, send us a marked-up drawing or detailed sketch of your proposed tank from multiple views, with a clear indication of the front view. Please include precise dimensions (height, width, depth, diameter, and/or port locations) and clearly label all assemblies, parts, kits, vents, fittings, in-tank filters, and any other specific features. The more detail you provide, the easier it will be to create an accurate model.

Review of Tank Assembly & Process

We divide each tank design into two phases: manufacturing and post-leak testing. This approach helps streamline production, finishing, and packaging procedures. Both stages are modeled using AutoDesk:Inventor, our advanced 3D mechanical design software, ensuring every detail is accounted for.

Receive Your Quote and Approve the Design

Once the model is complete, we’ll calculate pricing based on material costs and estimated production time. You’ll receive a detailed design and cost estimate to review. Please note, we cannot start construction until you’ve approved the design and submitted a purchase order.

Make Adjustments as Needed

Should you wish to revise your design, let us know. Simple tweaks are accommodated easily; however, significant changes may require us to reinitiate the process from the beginning.

Final Approval and Production

After you approve the final design and submit your purchase order, we’ll confirm your project’s lead time. Machine programming begins only after all approvals are complete.

Lead times for custom tanks vary depending on design complexity.

Our engineering team uses the latest AutoDesk: Product Design & Manufacturing Collection, including Inventor for 3D modeling and simulation, AutoCAD for 2D and 3D drafting, and Merry Mechanization SMP/IS Sheet Metal Programming Software.

When standard tanks won't cut it, we'll build a custom tank to your specifications.
