COVID-19 Case - Pershing

August 04, 2020

August 4, 2020

This morning we were made aware of a situation that we needed to share with you. We have learned that an employee on our first shift at our Pershing facility has received a report of testing positive for COVID-19. Although we are unable to share complete details related to the situation due to HIPPA and privacy regulations, we can share these details and facts.

The employee has not been in the facility since July 31, 2020.  On July 31, 2020 the employee started feeling symptoms of a fever. The employee received the test results this morning (August 4). The employee had symptoms of a fever Saturday and Sunday and was tested Sunday (August 2).

Here is what we have done, and what we are preparing to do:

  • First, the employee will remain away from the facility until they are released by their physician to safely return back to work.
  • The employee must receive a negative test result prior to returning back to work.
  • Our outside janitorial service has been continuing to sanitize the entire facility on a daily basis. In addition, we are having our facility electrostatically cleaned weekly. In addition, we are doing an additional treatment tomorrow morning (August 5) at 6:00 a.m.
  • We have made all employees that were in close proximity of this employee aware of this information. We have recommended that employees experiencing symptoms or have a concern to contact their personal physician or OC24 to receive guidance on their next steps.
  • We have been in continual contact with this employee and will continue to request updates from their medical provider as it become available.

After another review of guidance and recommendation from the CDC and OSHA, we believe we have taken the appropriate steps in response to this incident. However, our next steps include further contact with the employee for an update, and continuation of weekly sanitizing and disinfecting of all work areas. We will keep you updated on our progress and next steps.

In the meantime, please continue to follow protocol with the respect to hand washing, physical distancing, wearing face masks and other safety measures. Pay attention to your health, and contact your medical provider as you feel necessary. Feel free to contact me or any member of management with questions or concerns.
