COVID-19 REVISED SAFETY PROTOCOLS
We want to take this opportunity to update you on recent decisions made regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. We have always said we listen to and hear our employees and will re-evaluate our policies regarding COVID-19. We have done this and feel we are now at a point to announce two (2) changes.
First, we will be eliminating the split shift scheduling. We understand the split shift was difficult on many of us and our families. Second, we are going to have our 4th quarter employee lunches with enhanced safety protocols. We believe these are possible following the implementation of our safety guidelines, recognition of certain infection and positive trends, enforcement of our face mask policy, and the fact employees are adhering to that policy. We will hold the Tulsa Chili lunch (without the cook-off), and our other locations will hold a Fall employee lunch. Pot lucks, carry-ins and other types of food sharing events are still not permitted at this time.
We understand we all want to get back to what we know as "normal." We will take small steps to head in that direction, but we need your help to continue to make changes. COVID-19 is not gone but we feel it is important to make these changes. In fact, you may be aware that we are feeling it in the harshest way in our Tulsa facility as we remember one of our friends and colleagues who has recently passed away.
We need to continue to follow all of the other guidelines we have put in place: WASH YOUR HANDS, SOCIAL DISTANCE AND DISINFECT YOUR WORK AREAS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. Make sure you are taking these actions away from work, too.
As always, Muncie Power Products has the right to implement new safety protocols as necessary which may include reinstating split shift scheduling and eliminating employee lunches. We will continue to listen to our employees and follow our safety guidelines. If we see an increase in infection rates or new mandates from governmental agencies, changes will be made accordingly.
Thank you for everything you do to keep yourself, your co-workers and our families safe. By working together and supporting one another, we can achieve anything.
