Temperature Screening Procedure: Delaware Building
Scope:
All Delaware Building employees, tenants, and visitors administer a temperature check when they enter the building.
- Employees should go directly to the East Training Room for a temperature check immediately upon arriving at the Delaware Building
- Five stations will be set six feet apart with thermometers, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes
- Temperatures will be self-administered using a handheld thermometer
- Each person should use hand sanitizer before and after checking their temperature
- In the event their temperature reads 99.4 or less, they can proceed to work
- In the event their temperature reads 99.5 or higher, they will be expected to go to the West Training room, wait five minutes, and recheck their temperature
- The West Training room will have a table set up for rechecks. This station will have a thermometer, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes
- If after five minutes their temperature reads 99.4 or less, they may proceed to work
- If after five minutes their temperature reads 99.5 or higher, they should leave the building and notify their immediate supervisor and or HR
- Area will be cleaned, sanitized, and HR will contact them
Employees and tenant parking in the garage:
- One station will be set up in the basement next to the elevators with a thermometer, hand sanitizer, and wipes
- Temperature screens will be self-administered using a handheld thermometer
- Each person should use hand sanitizer before and after checking their temperature
- In the event their temperature reads 99.4 or less, they may proceed to work
- In the event their temperature reads 99.5 or higher, they will be expected to return to their vehicle and wait five minutes before rechecking their temperature
- If after five minutes their temperature reads 99.4 or less, they may proceed to work
- If after five minutes their temperature reads 99.5 or higher, they should leave the building and notify their immediate supervisor and or HR
- HR will contact them
Visitors Entering the Delaware Building:
Temperature checks of visitors will be the responsibility of the host employee/tenant.
- Visitors’ temperature will be checked before entering the secure area of the Delaware building
- One station will be set up in the internal lobby of the Delaware building
- The station will include a thermometer, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes
- Temperature checks will be administered by the host employee and this will take place in the external lobby area
- Each person should use hand sanitizer before and after checking the visitor’s temperature
- In the event a visitor’s temperature reads 99.4 or less, they can enter the internal lobby and elevators
- In the event a visitor’s temperature reads 99.5 or higher, they will be asked to return to the external lobby and wait five minutes before rechecking their temperature
- If after five minutes their temperature reads 99.4 or less, they may enter the internal lobby and elevators
- If after five minutes their temperature reads 99.5 or higher, they should leave the building
- Area will be cleaned and sanitized
- Note: Depending upon the reason for the visit, the employee responsible should follow-up with the person and determine when the visitor is able to return. For example, if the person is interviewing for a position, HR will follow-up to make that determination.
Signage:
- Steps on how to administer a temperature check will be located at each station
Compliance:
Effective February 15, 2021, all employees will be required to have their temperature taken upon entering the building. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
Communication:
- A video will be created for display on e-boards, M-Pulse, and the company COVID-19 web site
- Updates will be made to the Guidelines and Plans for Maintaining Safe Workplaces
Time Frame:
Policy will remain in effect as long as COVID-19 continues to be a threat to the safety of our work environment. Committee members will continue to evaluate and monitor guidelines and their effectiveness. In the event procedures of this policy need to be adjusted, the committee will notify and update the COVID Response Team.
