Remote Work Ground Rules
March 20, 2020
As part of our work monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and our efforts to minimize any impact in our workplace, we are providing additional guidance as it relates to those employees that may perform remote work. Please take a look at these recommendations, follow them closely and let any member of the crisis committee know if you have any questions or additional suggestions. Your supervisor or other members of management may have additional guidance and direction. Nevertheless, these are effective immediately and until further notice.
- Remember, even remote work is on behalf of Muncie Power Products. You still represent our brand, our values and live out our core competencies.
- Be sure to adhere to all policies, safety guidance, and the employee handbook (especially the sections addressing electronic communication, cell phones, smartphones and tablets), and our information security policies.
- Plan with your supervisor and other team members regarding continued achievement of goals and customer support.
- Check in with your team each morning and end of business day.
- Update your Outlook calendar with specific details regularly.
- Be responsive to all emails and phone calls.
- Ensure your mobile phone and other contact information is shared and up-to-date.
- Ensure internet connectivity is strong.
- Find a location in your home that is safe and conducive to your most productive self. Consider a “do not disturb” sign.
- Take a break each day to connect with a colleague in a meaningful way, virtually.
- Share your tips for success via the Structural app with #MPPRemoteWorkTips
- If remote work proves unsuitable or unproductive, ask for an option to return to the workplace.
- Keep in mind the remote work option may be discontinued for any reason.
